What the Commons does
The Commons debates legislation and public matters, questions Ministers, scrutinises Government, authorises public finance through parliamentary procedure and determines confidence in the Government.

The post-election Commons is not yet operating its ordinary sitting programme during the current transitional establishment period. No person is presented on this site as an MP unless returned through the lawful parliamentary election process.
