Post-election confirmation

Transitional legislation intended to continue beyond the transition is subject to confirmation, amendment, replacement or repeal by the Parliament returned after the 2027 general election.

Default confirmation period: 90 days.

The default period runs for 90 days after the first meeting of the House of Commons following the 2027 general election, unless the relevant Act provides a shorter period or Parliament expressly continues the measure.

  1. Identify the transitional measureParliamentary administration records which measures are subject to post-election treatment and the legal provision governing each measure.
  2. Calculate the applicable periodThe default is 90 days from the first Commons meeting after the 2027 general election, subject to any shorter period in the relevant Act or express continuation by Parliament.
  3. Parliament considers the measureThe returned Parliament may confirm, amend, replace or repeal it using the procedure authorised by law and the Houses.
  4. Record the outcomeThe parliamentary record states the action taken and legislation.gov.uh reflects any resulting legislative change through the proper legislative publication process.
